U/he approaching season of Rain, dear love,

Comes like a king in pride of power.

The rain-ladeti clouds are its rutting war elephants;

The lambent flashes of lightning

Serve for its streaming pennons.

And the reverberating thunder

Is the rattle of its kettle-drums;

It is hailed by a host of lovers

As the royal cavalcade is acclaimed

Like jade fragments, the green grass rises

spreading its blades to catch raindrops,

red Indragopaka insects perch on fresh

leaf-buds bursting forth from the Kandali plants

the earth smiles like an elegant lady

draped in nature’s colourful jewels. 2-5

But main this is enjoy the rain—not so easy to tell—jumping in rain water for sometime is joy—but stay in flooded condition is miserable.

Yet we need to be strong in our mindset accept the challenges and try to find other way out to survive.

Comments

  1. Beautifully captured the dual essence of the monsoon—its poetic charm and its stark realities—through a compelling blend of classical literature and contemporary reflection. The inclusion of Kalidasa’s Ritu Samhara adds a lyrical dimension, reminding readers of the eternal romance and vibrancy associated with the rainy season. What stands out most is the author’s emphasis on inner joy and mental resilience; despite flooded streets and harsh living conditions, he inspires a philosophical outlook that urges us to find beauty and strength within. This emotional depth, paired with cultural insight, makes the piece both evocative and uplifting.
